Here are some of the fish you can find in Lake Nasser. Another interesting experience is shore fishing. Where else for instance can you work artificial lures from the shore anywhere in the world either in fresh or salt water and encounter fish in the 20 - 100lb plus category. Nasser is quite unique in this kind of experience.

The Nile perch

It is a large-mouthed game fish that grows up to 6 ft (1.8 m) long and 400 lbs (180 kg). It is a predator and feeds on other fish. The Nile perch is the largest freshwater fish in the world. There is an account from Lake Victoria where local fishermen caught an incredible 232kg (516lb) Nile perch. The biggest recorded Nile perch from Lake Nasser is 1 76kg (392lb). The all tackle world record for Nile perch was a spectacular fish of 213lb and the second largest was a 210lb Nile perch. The largest Nile perch caught on an African safari was 6'2" long and had a girth of 4'11". Research shows that Nile perch have a better chance of reaching record sizes in lakes rather than in a river system, there is every indication that there are massive fish still living in Lake Nasser

Tiger fish

abound in the lake, and of the two species the most common is Hydrocynus forskalli that grows to 7kg (15lb+). Tiger Fish are related to the South American Piranha and just one look at their vicious teeth, leaves you in no doubt that they are savage predators. The size and strength of a Nile perch is one thing, but for sheer sport on light tackle a Tiger takes a lot of beating. Not only is the tiger a beautiful fish, but its ferocious elegance will get any person adrenaline going, few fish have such a fierce fighting energy.

Catfish

provide an exciting challenge. There are 18 species found in the lake, two of which are of interest. These being the Bagrus and more notably the legendary Vundu of Lake Kariba (Zimbabwe South Africa) fame. If you hook a Vundu it will give you an unforgettable fight. The local fishermen talk of specimens that can achieve weights of well over 100lb, the largest Vundu we have caught to date was an 86 pounder. Methods of fishing are varied, you can either troll from well appointed boats or lure cast and fly fish along the shoreline. Shore fishing is an exciting challenge and has also produced a lot of big fish, the largest shore caught fish to date is a 179lb Nile perch.

Lake Nasser fishing Equipment:- 

Trolling Rods & Reels 

Trolling rods are generally boat or up-tide rods of 20 - 30lb class and between 7' and 9'. These should be teamed with medium sized multipliers capable of holding 200 yards plus of 30lb line. Abu 7000s and 10,000s, Shimano TLD 15s and Penn GLS 25s are top of our list. 

Shore Fishing Rods & Reels 

To land a big fish from the shore, you need to fish heavy. Rods should be 10' - 12' with a test curve of 3.5lb - 4lb. Reels should be big enough to hold at least 200 yards of 20 - 30lb monofilament.

For Tiger fish and smaller Nile perch, you can use lighter tackle. A carp or spinning rod of 9' - 12' with a test curve of between 1.5lb and 2lb with a good medium fixed spool is ample. Line class should be 15 - 20lb b.s.

Day 2: (Cairo)

Starting by a long and elevated green par 3 is quite unusual. Good balance between wide and narrow farways. Typical setting for a desert course resort course with giant desert bunkers separated the farways. Water is present but not often in play except for the finishing par 4 where a safe tee shot to the left will assure a short iron to the elevated green. Greens in good condition. This Sphinx considered as guardian for the royal tombs, then processed to visit Saqqara, located about 25 km south of Cairo. There you will visit the complex of king Zoser, King of the 3rd dynasty. This complex includes the Step Pyramid, Which was built by Imhotep, the great architect and magician. At night you will enjoy with the Sound and Light Show, where you will enjoy with the sound & light show and hearing the history of the ancient Egyptians from the mouth of the great sphinx. Then you will be driven to your hotel & overnight in Cairo.

Day 3: (Cairo)

After breakfast at hotel, you will be met Osoris English Egyptology Tour Guide & driven by a private car with to visit the Egyptian Museum, Built in 1902 in a design correspond to the ancient Egyptian style. It contains almost 120,000 pieces from all ages. The most important pieces are for king Tutkhankhamon, whom death is a big secret till know. Then you will visit the most ancient place Khan Al Khalili Bazaar. It is the oldest Egyptian market for handmade crafts for papyrus, copper, jewelers and .etc and you have your time to buy all you need from souvenirs and spend your time in the Egyptians cafes. then you will be driven to your hotel.

(Optional) Dinner Nile Cruise, where you will enjoy with your dinner on board with the natural air and the fantastic Nile view. then driven to your hotel & overnight in Cairo.One of the best ways to do this is aboard a Nile dinner cruiser. Which stay out usually for several hours and include good food, fine entertainment, and a romantic evening gazing at the lights along the the banks. Really, this is one form of entertainment that should not be missed on a visit to Egypt quiet and romantic, with a candle lit on the table and the wonderful scenery of the Nile all around.

Day 4: (Cairo)

Day 5: (Cairo-Train)

After breakfast at hotel, met by Osoris steward & driven by a private car to the Mirage City Golf Club to play golf (18 holes). After finishing playing you will be met by Osoris steward & driven by a private car to Giza railway station to take your sleeping train to Luxor train # 84 leaves at 20.20. On the train, Dinner is served in cabin or in restaurant according to your choice & overnight in train.

Day 6: (Train-Luxor)

After taking your breakfast at train served in cabin or in restaurant according to your choice, and upon your arrival in Luxor city, you will be met by Osoris steward & driven by a private car to your hotel & assisted for check in. Day 7: (Luxor-Hurghada)

After breakfast at hotel, met by Osoris steward & driven by a private car with English Egyptology Tour Guide to visit the most special place which is the Necropolis of Thebes and visit the Valley of the Kings and the great temple of Queen Hatshepsut,  (Al Deir Al Bahari). It was built by Queen Hatshepsut, the great queen of the 18th dynasty. Inside it she depicts the details of the expedition of punt which she sent to the land of punt to bring the insect trees from there. Also you will see The Colossal Statues Of Memnon; The Northern statue depicts Amenhotep III with his mother, Mutemwia, while the southern statue is of Amenhotep III with his wife, Tiy and one of his daughters, then you will visit the Karnak Temple, It contains three important temples for Amun, Mut and Monto. The most attractive and important one is that for Amun, which dedicated to god Amun. Then visit The Luxor Temple, It was dedicated to the triad of Thebes (now Luxor city) Amun, Mut and Khonso. It was built by the two Pharaohs: Amenhotep III and Ramses II. Then you will be driven by a private car to Hurgada, which is located on the red sea and on the way you will enjoy with the colored mountains & the natural air. Upon your arrival in Hurghada, you will be driven to your hotel & assisted for check in & overnight in Hurgada. 

Day 8: (Hurghada)
